For the past five years or so, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the day to receive a dSLR camera in my hands and learn how to use it. Partly because I’ve always wanted to take my blogging images a step further since I’ve been using the camera on my phone for the majority of the time I’ve been blogging, and partly because I’ve grown to appreciate photography over the years. I’ve been anticipating for a while taking beautiful images with a focus that a camera phone just doesn’t have. All the while drooling over other blogs with gorgeous photography. In fact, I just rediscovered one of my very first blog posts talking about my creativity over the years and how I had been getting interested in photography.
This year as an early birthday present, my dream has finally come true. Sure, my birthday is in June, but we have some events coming up this month that I really wanted to capture with better image quality. I can thank my husband for being so understanding on this one!
I’m excited to see how the images that I capture will evolve the blog. Having been blogging since 2011, it’s time for this blog to grow up. This blog is going to put on her Big Girl Panties, capture better images, and even change the theme. Showing her maturity and telling the world where she wants to go.
Of course I’m sure there’s going to be an adjustment period of figuring this lovely camera out. The first day I had it, I couldn’t help but snap pictures at almost whatever was in front of me just to try it out (yep, even before reading the manual), which was mainly our cat, Lucky. Not all of them were good, but some turned out okay!
^Lucky sniffing the camera lense. He was making me laugh with his curiosity!
^My first Macro shot!
Niiiiice! That’s what I have! What lens are you using for macro?
PK! Oh my goodness, I was thinking about you as I wrote this post remembering when you got YOUR camera! How funny is that?! I used a +10 58mm close up lense. I found a fantastic package on Amazon with a few of lenses 🙂
Exciting! Your photos look amazing already!
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Looks like your flying already with your new camera. But incase you want some help with understanding some of the features there are some great tutorials on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=canon+rebel+t5+tutorial
Have fun, and the quickest way to learn is take lots of photos and learn from your mistakes.
Thank you for the link! I’ll have to check it out 🙂 It’s definitely fun so far and I’m glad to say I’m learning quickly but with a lot more to learn!
