Valentine’s Day 2014

Okay, it’s been weeks since I’ve blogged and the truth is – I missed you guys! But I just couldn’t find it in me to find any clever Valentine’s Day prep stuff or sweets to show you like a bunch of cool blogs were doing. Even though I’m a festive kind of gal, we keep it sort of low key for V-Day. At least until we have kids…Or until I get a group of my girls together for a sweet and fun Galentine’s Day brunch (next year, ladies!)…

I did, however, grab these adorable socks at Target:

And painted my nails this gorgeous deep pink/red color from Ulta in Deep Desire (an appropriate name for Valentine’s Day). Forgive my messy cuticles though…

v-day nails '14I have to say that one of my favorite things I gave my hubby this year was this gummy controller. It was the best find for my handsome gamer!

gummy controllerWe originally had plans to celebrate the holiday and go out tonight for dinner (we believe you don’t have to celebrate on the day), which is a great way to avoid crowds and long seat times at restaurants, but with a foot of snow on the ground and unusual warm fifty-something degree weather after a snow dumping, we took advantage and headed to a local town center.

chocolatesDid any of you get stuck in the East Coast snow storm? Did it ruin any of your Valentine’s Day plans? How did you and your significant other – or gal pals – celebrate?

  1. Well I spent mine home sicky, so we didn’t go anywhere. I’m much better today, so I look forward to our Valentine dinner later this evening. You know, I went through a push the envelope and paint one finger nail on each hand phase in college… I had several bottles of the coolest blue or sparkly blue/purple polish. I’m over that, by the way. 🙂 Ha!
