Christmas Decor | 2013

PineconeWe have had quite the week! We’ve been steadily moving into my in-laws basement (we’re saving up to buy a house!) so going back and forth for things we need, making a ton of candles for Gloss48 that was sent out Friday, and two batches of fudge, among other time consuming things that called for my attention this week. All while watching The Santa Claus on ABC Family, I can’t tell you how many times…! Or The Polar Express. Or The Grinch (which by the way – the original is so much better in my opinion).

Having our own area in the basement has been fun to put together, including when we finally got to decorate our tree! This year with the space we were working with, we opted to go for our cute little four footer. It’s the first tree we had as a couple and I’m glad we didn’t do away with it when we got our upgrade last year. It’s come in quite handy!

X-mas Tree and ChairThis year, I tried pulling out all of our gold and red ornaments and mixed in a few dark blue and meaningful ornaments, attempting to make this little tree have a little class. I also used gold garland and a few deep red poinsettias.

Believe Bells{These bells remind of of The Polar Express and the message of that movie. The one with the blue ribbon I got when we did The Polar Express train ride in 2008}Mr & Mrs.{These ornaments are the oldest ones on the tree. My mom got them when I was a toddler and passed them on to me a few years ago. They sit at the top of my tree, just as they did when I was little. It was my own personal tradition every year to make sure they were together as Mr. and Mrs. and at the very top}

PoinsettaornamentsIt’s safe to say that I’ve done my fair share of collecting some Christmas decor over the last few years. With the space we have to work with and boxes piled everywhere, I’m pretty satisfied of the little Christmas touches around the basement.

Hope you all are having a great Holiday season so far – I can’t believe Christmas is only a few days away! It came up fast this year. Who’s ready?

P.S. Anyone recognize a few of these items from my August Christmas Mouse haul?
