Bath and Body Works 2 for $22 Fall Candle Haul

Fall Candles

Yes, it is that time of year again when I begin to go crazy over my favorite type of scents – Autumn scents to be exact (next comes Christmas, of course!). I usually stick to Yankee Candle, as that has been in my life ever since I was a kid, thanks to my mom. She used to burn scents mainly with some kind of cinnamon spice, such as Home Sweet Home, and I tend to be attracted to those types of candles as an adult. I find that for me, those make me feel the most cozy. However, I have recently branched out and did my very first Bath and Body Works candle haul! And I even tried different types of scents!

I have to say that while Yankee Candle is rather expensive, they tend to put out a lot of deals and coupons, which is the only time I buy them. I don’t usually get coupons from Bath and Body Works, and just cannot justify getting a candle that doesn’t last as long (although stronger) than Yankee, for $20. So I waited for the much anticipated 2 for 22 sale. Needless to say, I am all stocked up for the season! Did I mention I make candles? This has turned into a full out obsession.

Sandalwood Citrus: loved this scent and it was a great one to burn at the end of August (when I made the purchase) and very early September when it’s still hot. This one smells a little like a cologne (not in a bad way), but somehow makes the perfect kitchen or bathroom scent. The description reads: Awaken your senses with a fresh and artful blend of mint leaves and sandalwood wrapped in musk. I’m on the fence about repurchasing this in the future or next year (if they bring it back), considering I don’t normally go for scents that smell like cologne, even though it was a good one.

Autumn: This one I’m currently burning as I write this. I love this scent and would consider grabbing another one before the end of the season (probably not going to happen, but…). This reminds me of a perfect early Autumn day when it’s in that in between stage when you can feel the hints of coolness in the air and the leaves have begun changing colors. It brings a certain coziness to the air. And I don’t think this one has a hint of spice to it! I’m so proud of myself for finding something different! The description reads: A crisp fall fragrance that blends dark pomegranate and red delicious apple with notes of fir balsam and rich cedarwood.

Cranberry Woods: This one seems to get a lot of love from Youtubers. I can see why. Every time I smell this it takes my mind to November, maybe because of the light cranberry fragrance, which makes me think of Thanksgiving. I’m such a seasonal burner of candles that I may even wait until then to burn this one, but we’ll see! I’m kind of surprised I picked this one up because I’m not usually one to go for any type of fruit other than apple. The fragrance description reads: A mysterious blend of cranberry, rich blackcurrant and raspberry delicately layered with notes of cinnamon bark, cedarwood and warm amber inspired by the magic of the woods during harvest time.

Marshmallow Fireside:  I’ve been hearing about this one for a while now and finally picked it up. I initially thought this would be a really sweet fragrance (can’t do those), but it’s actually rather pleasant and not too sweet or overwhelming. I think this one makes me think of winter rather than Fall with the bonfire note. The description reads: Celebrate the changing season with a warm blend of toasted marshmallows, smoldering woods and creamy vanilla reminiscent of a cozy evening ’round the bonfire.

Black Pepper Bergamot: I honestly don’t feel like this one gets enough love from what I’ve seen on the internet. I have to say that again, this may fall into the “cologne” category, but you can definitely smell the pepper note in it and it brings something different to the table. For me, this makes me think of a cozy rainy Autumn day inside with a warm cup of coffee or cider. The description reads: Intricate layers of spicy black pepper combine with uplifting bergamot and lavender in a fragrance inspired by fall’s changeable days.

Cinnamon & Clove Buds: Because how could I walk out of there without it? I might actually burn this one close to Christmas time because of how spicy it is with the cinnamon, especially because I have a few other unmentioned Fall favorites to go through. I’ve heard a few people are a little bored with this scent and wished BBW came out with something new to replace it, but this combo is such a staple in quite a few homes that I don’t know how they couldn’t have their own version. The description reads: Warm up with the comfort of a spicy blend of fall’s favorite ingredients – cinnamon, clove buds and nutmeg.

What are your favorite candles to burn during this season? Did you grab any from Bath and Body Works and if so, which ones? And can you believe I didn’t get anything pumpkin? Next time!

  1. I just started burning all of my fall scents from Bath & Body works last week. Gold Canyon and B&BW are my faves. Pumpkin Latte is one of their new ones that I really like. I’ve got a few you listed above. I also have several I never burned from last year. I’ll be burning them a lot this weekend since the weather has finally cooled a bit. You and I would be SUCH good roommates. 🙂
